What are the three preparation processes of light burnt magnesia?

With the development of science and technology and national economy, the use of active magnesium oxide is more and more extensive, and the demand for light burning magnesium oxide is also increasing. Therefore, more attention has been paid to the preparation process of active magnesium oxide. Today, we will introduce three preparation processes of active magnesium oxide.

Light burnt magnesia

1. Carbonization of dolomite. Mg(OH)2 and Ca(OH)2 were prepared by calcining dolomite or magnesite and digesting with water. Magnesium bicarbonate and by-product calcium carbonate were obtained by carbonizing with CO2. After removing calcium carbonate from mother liquor, basic magnesium carbonate is obtained by pyrolysis, and then calcined at 800 C for 1 to 2 hours to produce active magnesium oxide.

2. Brine-ammonia method. Magnesium salt in brine is deposited into magnesium hydroxide after feeding ammonia. Magnesium hydroxide is filtered, washed, destroyed and dried, then transferred to rotary calciner to produce active magnesium oxide. When calcining, the temperature should be controlled at 500 C for 2 hours.

3. Brine-ammonium carbonate method. The ammonium carbonate solution was added to brine, heated and precipitated to form basic magnesium carbonate deposit, which was filtered, washed, dried, destroyed and calcined to form active magnesium oxide.
